Can a US citizen get married to a canadian citizen in Ontario?

Hi I'm moving to Ontario soon and I'm planning to get married there. I'm currently a U.S. Citizen. What process would my fiance and I have to go through to do this? Can a US citizen get married to a canadian citizen in Ontario?
The answer is yes!

However the interesting thing is that if you are ever in need of a divorce you will need to file the paper for divorce out of the Canadian Province or the American State that you were married in.

So, I don't like to create negativity but should it ever be necessary it may be interesting to find out how the divorce laws and annulment laws vary between Ontario and whatever American State your moving from.

PS

Between Canada and the USA It is generally more important to be concerned about filing your taxes properly and making certain your Visitor Visa or Entrance and Exit Dates in and out of the Country are well documented. June 2009 Canadians will be required to issue a passport at the American Boarder, which will make the American's relax, which is a good thing.

Good LuckCan a US citizen get married to a canadian citizen in Ontario?
You didn't mention if you have applied for Immigration approval, from the Government of Canada ? I hope so.

I also hope that you understand that getting married in Canada, does NOT give you any type of Immigration status here. in Canada. You still have to go thru the application process, just like any one else does.

here is a information website, about getting married in Ontario.

Jim B. Toronto.
One of you would need to get a license from the local city hall then arrange to get married same as any other couple. Church or JP, your call. Nothing special is required as long as you can legally get married (ie: not married to someone else, old enough...)
