How dressy should you get when getting married at the courthouse?

I am getting married soon, and wondered if I should get a long or knee length dress? Would I be overdresses for a courthouse wedding?How dressy should you get when getting married at the courthouse?
Some couples wed in blue jeans. Other brides wear wedding gowns. Do what you like.





I think as long as you avoid long veils and cumbersome trains, it is okay.

honey, its your wedding day, you can wear what you want. i know people who went to the courthouse and got married in jeans, and then i know people who went to the courthouse with her in her whole dress and veil, and him in a tux. its really up to you guys, because it is your day. just because your having a courthouse wedding doesnt mean you have to give up EVERYTHING that comes with a big wedding.





tho, if you are interested in a knee length dress, check out davids bridal. they have a lot of super pretty knee length wedding dresses lately, i wish they had been there when i bought my dress!
I think that it is up to how your future husband will be dressed. you don't want to be all dolled up and having him wearing jeans! I think that a knee length dress would be more appropriate. Congratulations!
You can wear whatever you want to a courthouse wedding, just like with any other type of wedding.
However dressy YOU want to be! If you want to walk in there with a replica of Princess Diana's dress... then by all means do it!!! Your day... don't let anyone tell you what to do :)
I think you should go all out - think about it, it's your day! Dress like you mean it!!!! Your only going to get married once!
My fiance and I were thinking about doing that - I wasn't planning on getting dressed up very much :) I'm sure she planned otherwise though!
