Getting married and have a couple of collection accounts. How would this affect my new wife?

I have 2 collection accounts . Can they go after my wifes income?

I am disabled and have very limited income. We are working our finances to start paying those accounts, but do not know how long it will take us to start paying.Getting married and have a couple of collection accounts. How would this affect my new wife?
If you don't have any joint accounts, or if she doesn't plan on co-signing with you on anything (for now) then it shouldn't affect her.Getting married and have a couple of collection accounts. How would this affect my new wife?
In most states, your debt becomes her debt and vice versa.
Your debts don't become your future wife's obligation. However, it will affect the ability of getting to get house mortgage. You may have to have any home purchase in her name only and for them to consider your income.

Once you have the ability to start paying on the accounts, consider talking to a company Representative in authority that may be able to take off any late charges and even reduce the amount you have to pay back. Make sure you get any agreement in writting. This is best performed with the company holding the ownership of debt, not the collection agency.
