When it comes to getting more money on your return which way is the best way to go? And also, if you claim your husband and children can your husband claim you and the children as well?

It is normally far better to file jointly. In fact I have never seen a case where MFS makes more sense. Only one person can claim each exemption, so the total exemptions on both returns can not exceded the number you would get on a joint return.
